What Spills from My Lips....

I am writing an application for Kindred Medium, and it's going to be a difficult app since I really need to sell the concept.  I want to make it so that whenever Giuliana sees/speaks to ghosts because of Kindred Medium, it has some negative effect on her, like triggering a derangement or something.

Anyone have a suggestion for a good negative reaction?  Giuliana is pretty refined and soft-spoken in public and comes across as a cultured and "ideal" Invictus Lady, and due to her background, she rarely develops close relationships with anyone, her sire and a few others are the exception.  I'm looking for something that will affect her negatively, but not seem like a "damsel in distress" type of thing.
